Bio

Hi! I am Alejandro Raga Espinosa, currently a PhD Student at the University of Valencia, Spain. My work at the time is focused on the field of Corporate Science, or the phenomenon of for-profit firms engaging on in-house basic scientific research. Other previous work as ben centered around macro-simulation, either through Agent Based Modeling or by studying player-driven economies on Massive Multiplayer Online games.

I started the Degree in Economics at the university of Valencia in 2018, where i decided i wanted to pursue an academic career, followed up by a Master in Economics at the same university. In there i learned the fundamentals of economic analysis and i gained a handful of skills on Big Data analysis, fundamentals of machine learning, a strong set of econometric techniques, including causal inference, as well as training on economic theory.

I joined the PhD program in Business Administration at Valencia on 2024, under the supervision of Oscar Llopis. Through it had the chance to develop both my research and IT skills, as well as travel, attend conferences and do a short research visit to Duke University in North Carolina, EEUU under professor Ashish Arora. Furthermore i have also joined the research group Inn4All at the Department of Business administration.

Other related activities to my academic work are this blog, in wich i intend to publish science communication material around the fields of economics and economic policy and the development of an Open Source, academic oriented latex writing editor called Latex4All
